Nate had to play a final game and if his team won, they will reach to the playoffs in two weeks. On the other side, he had the opportunity to meet Tom Brady in a contest. There was a target and Nate had to hit it to win one million bucks, but it was not easy since the prize was a really good one. Nate told to Tom that he was scared, but Brady told him that he is always a little scared during his games, but he had to defeat that scare with confidence. Finally, Nate Brodie threw the football and hit the target, he had made a Million-Dollar Throw!
"And Nate was so flustered, so excited to be actually shaking Brady's hand with his hands shaking the way they were that he forgot he was holding his football and promptly dropped it."
Nate was so excited to meet Tom Brady that he forgot about everything, even what was in his own hands.
"So this is what it feels like, Nate wanted to say to him. This is what it's like to be you."
When Nate hit the target, the whole Gillette Stadium started to make noise and shout Nate's name. He understood how Brady feels when he is playing and he really liked it.
The Patriots' Thanksgiving day was finally there, and Nate had to participate in the halftime contest. He met Tom Brady and he couldn't believe that, and he told to his idol that he was scared and nervous about throwing the ball. Tom told him that it is important to face your fears and be confident so that you can do everything well always. Nate did what Brady told to him and hit the target; he had made a Million-Dollar Throw.

Nate has a Gift for Abby
Nate and Abby had a fight and spent the whole weekend without talking to each other. On Monday, when they went back to school, they started speaking a little, but they were still affected because of that fight. Abby and Nate started to miss class more constantly and it seemed like their lifes were going in different directions. Some days later, Nate find a box in his house that he meant to send Abby and he finally did it. In the box was a book that he was going to send her because he liked it and also the author.
"The distance between them was still there. This was the new Nate-and-Abby, the world the two of them were living in now."
Nate and Abby were really good friends, but they started to get separated and their friendship was broken.
"Then Abby missed school again on Thursday. It was becoming routine now, routine for the two of them not to see each other or even speak to each other."
Abby and Nate didn't speak anymore and it seems like they had never meet each other.
Nate and Abby had a fight and started separating from each other. Their friendship was ending because they didn't look or speak to each other anymore. Sometimes, it is hard to lose a friend, but you have to deal with it or try to fix whatever you have done wrong. Nate tried to do something by sending that book to Abby, but there is no guarantee that they will be friends and talk to each other again.

Nate is being Observed
For the next game, Nate had a lot of pressure because there were some newspapers and media in general who went there to see the game and take pictures or videos from Nate's game. During the whole match, Nate kept an eye on the game and the other one on the sideline where all the journalists and the media were. Also, he played another game in which his performance was really bad again. For the first time in his life, Coach Rivers sent him to the bench because of his bad game.
"But whatever pressure Nate was feeling last Saturday didn't amount to a pile of dirty socks compared with what he was feeling this Saturday against the Manorville Rams."
One of Nate's pressures was that his father had time to go and watch the game, something that didn't happened frequently.
"People from The Today Show were there to do a feature on him, and a reporter from Sports Illustrated was on hand to write a piece about the eighth-grade quarterback who was going to throw a ball for all that money on Thanksgiving night."
There was double-pressure for Nate and that desconcentrated him so that he had a bad game and got sent to the bench.
This match that Nate played was a really tough one for him since there was a lot of pressure due to the circumstances of the game. His father and media were going to watch his game and that meant a lot of pressure for Nate. In sports, there is always some kind of pressure, sometimes more and sometimes less, but there is always something important for what you are playing. Nate couldn't deal with so much pressure and he was sent to the bench by Coach Rivers since he wanted a better opportunity to win the match.

Nate is not Focused
Nate Brodie had to play a game for his school team, but had a really bad performance on it. He threw incomplete passes, got sacked, and caused fumbles during the entire match. He was not as motivated as always since his friend, Abby, had fall on the stairs and his mother had to take Abby to the hospital and missed the game. With their quarterback practically off, Nate's team lost that match, but not with a big difference in the score. The coach talked with Nate and told him that he has to forget about the errors he had made and keep doing the things in a better way.
"The teams were tied 7-7 at halftime. It had hardly anything to do with the way Nate was playing and absolutely nothing zip, zero- with the way he was throwing the ball."
Nate was not having a good day and his team neither. It seemed like the pressure had played an important role in the game.
"They're not here, Coach Rivers said. I decided to wait until the game was over to tell you. Abby fell. Your mom had to take her to the hospital."
Nate was a really good football player in his position (quarterback), but he was clearly having a bad day. He started to get sacked and made bad plays that ended up being benefitial for the opponent team. Everybody can have a bad day, especially an athlete since they have to focus to give the best they have in every competition and that is very difficult. Coach Rivers made a good decision when telling Nate the it is okay to make some errors and he has to be always concentrated on helping the team and improving his game.

Nate Brodie
Nate Brodie is a 13 year-old boy who loves american football and plays at his school team as a quarterback. His favorite player and the one who Nate admires the most is Tom Brady, quarterback of the New England Patriots. He was a really big fan of Tom Brady and he couldn't believe when he could get some articles signed by him. Nate went to play football in a park when he was not at school and he always did that with his friends.
"A Brady throw all the way, he said. I wish, Nate said. I'm serious, Coach said. Biggest Throw of the season."
Nate was a really good quarterback and threw a 40-yard pass to help his team win the game.
"The winner of the contest was going to get the chance to make one throw from thirty yards away, through a twenty-inch hole at halftime of the Patriots' Thanksgiving night game against the Colts. Whoever made the throw would be handed a check for one million dollars."
There was this contest and I thought that Nate may win this contest or another teammate may have the opportunity to throw it.
Nate Brodie is a boy who likes american football like a very short amount of people do. He is from New England and his favorite Patriot and idol is the quarterback Tom Brady. In the life of every good player or athlete from any sport, there is an idol or a person to admire so that he or she can follow its example and what he or she did to reach to the position in which is now. He was a quarterback who played for the team of his school and one of his biggest dreams was to meet Tom Brady at some point.
